A Commitment to the Environment

We are committed to producing and distributing materials with the least impact on the environment. That’s why ALOM follows best practices in recycling, source reduction, procurement and energy consumption.

Using digital print technology, we can help eliminate inventory waste. By printing just-in-time and only when needed, we can help eliminate literature obsolescence. Tossing old printed matter generates trash, in addition to wasting the precious resources that originally were used for production.

Our recycling practices involve recycling all paper and corrugated material. All metals, plastics and other non-organic materials are recycled where possible. Heavy metals are segregated and managed in a separate waste stream designed to keep those materials safe and segregated.

When the opportunity arises to reuse materials, we will do so to eliminate waste, as long as it does not have a negative effect on our ability to control quality and on our customers’ branding.

We believe in source reduction, and we will provide suggestions to our customers for reducing product size, packaging materials and overall waste. Our filler material is generally recycled paper or airbags. We constantly train and monitor to ensure that package contents are properly protected without wasting materials.

Our procurement practices include minimal impact paper and ink requirements, as well as freight considerations. Because of our fast turn-around, our customers can minimize inventory, thus cutting down on waste due to obsolescence. Vendors are evaluated based on their ability to produce safe, tested and environmentally sustainable products.

Our headquarters is outfitted with energy-saving devices, such as motion sensors throughout the warehouse, high-efficiency lighting and insulation.
