We currently have the following job openings: Logistics Specialist ALOM is looking for an experienced Logistic Specialist with strong parcel freight, USPS and import export background.
You will be managing all incoming orders and administering freight contracts, and optimizing carrier choices.
The position requires hands-on knowledge and experience in freight management – FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS and LTL. Strong knowledge of USMAIL services, Bulk Mail processing, quoting of shipments, planning and creating documentations. Must have experience with imports and export operations.
The candidate should be highly motivated self-starter with at least 3 years experience working in a logistics position with a minimum of an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate must have experience working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with a high degree of accuracy and focus. To be considered, candidates must address these skill sets in their application.
Intern 2009 Alom has one opening for an engineering intern during the Fall Semester 2009The job will consist of supporting performance Metrics and Balanced Scorecard for ALOM supply chain.The intern will assist ALOM’s Director of Operations in reviewing the current ALOM metrics and KPI’s and validate the computations and logic and assist in redesign and development of a balanced scorecard. The new scorecard should be (SMARTER):Specific, Measurable, Agreed upon (defined), Relevant, Timebound, Evaluated, Recorded. The intern will assist in creating an action plan and develop the new score card using process mapping and optimization. This will require extensive review of the existing processes company wide and come up with intelligent measurements of performance to monitor the progress of the operations. Additionally, the intern will assist in developing the departmental daily dashboards focusing on specific indicators relevant to each department activities. IT Manager ALOM is looking for a full time experienced IT Manager with strong skills in managing the operations of a 75+ client environment based on Microsoft technology. The IT department is expanding quickly as the company continues to grow. You will be responsible for the overall health of ALOM’s IT infrastructure including security, data integrity, efficiency and performance. The position requires detailed experience with the following technologies: • Exchange 2007 • Windows 2003 • Active Directory • Group Policy • IIS • SQL Server • Windows XP/Vista • Office 2003/2007 • IP Subnetting Experience with the following technologies is highly desirable but not required: • Microsoft Data Protection Server • Experience writing Transact-SQL code • Experience with SQL Integration Services • Windows scripting • Mac OSX • Cisco IOS You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining network equipment from firewalls and VPN routers to workgroup switches, WAPs as well as the VOIP Telco system. Procurement of any hardware and software deemed essential for the operational environment as well as their deployment will be part of your duties. The ideal candidate should be an ambitious person apt at problem solving and multitasking. Account Manager You will be joining a group of excellent, detail-oriented, customer-focused inside account managers in a fast-paced environment. You will be in charge of the daily customer relationship, and you will be juggling all the related details, including documentation (BOM's, AI's, ECO/ECN's and other specifications), managing print files, managing duplication masters, entering orders into our ERP system and following the order through our internal systems. You will be purchasing materials for your customers, and some purchasing background is a must. You will work with 5-10 customers, and the position requires strong ability to multi-task without loss of accuracy, as well as the ability to organize your own work. You must have industry background, having worked in a fulfillment, turnkey and/or print/packaging company. The ideal candidate has minimum five years industry specific experience, including print, packaging and fulfillment. You are fully familiar with the basics of MRP/ERP systems, and are possibly APICS certified.
